Micaela Lafratta

Data analyst with a governance mindset

Because data is never just data. There's always a story behind it.

Eight years working with data inside communications and project roles, now formalised into a full technical stack: Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and a CDMP certification in data management.

Data-driven Analysis

I work hands-on with the full analytics pipeline: extracting and cleaning data with SQL and Python, then turning it into dashboards and KPI frameworks with Power BI and Tableau. From exploratory analysis to executive-ready reporting, I build the clear, reliable evidence leadership needs to make decisions. And because I design these frameworks with governance in mind, the numbers stay traceable, consistent, and honest about their limits.

Data Governance
& AI Ethics

I work with the regulatory frameworks that shape how organisations handle data and AI responsibly: EU AI Act, GDPR, FRIA, and human rights-based approaches to bias detection, privacy risks, and ethical impact assessments. My background in Human Rights Law gives this work a foundation that goes beyond compliance. I understand what these frameworks are actually protecting.

Communication
& Training

I turn complex frameworks into clear, accessible language that sticks. Through storytelling, tailored workshops, and hands-on training, I make sure every team, from legal and HR to operations and leadership, not only understands what governance requires but knows how to apply it. And because I work with the technical tools myself, I know exactly where people get lost, and how to bring them back.

Tech Projects

Data analysis, visualisation and technical projects, from people analytics to SQL and API extraction.

Before Data

Where I worked with data before it was my main craft: measured communications, EU project coordination and reporting.

About Me

Micaela Lafratta facilitating a workshop with an audience
The hardest part of governance isn't the framework.
It's making sure everyone understands what's at stake.

I'm a data analyst with eight years of experience working with data inside communications and project roles: tracking KPIs, optimising conversion funnels, building reporting frameworks and turning analytics into decisions for clients across the EU third sector, SaaS and international cooperation.

In 2025 I completed an intensive Data Analysis and AI programme at Adalab, formalising that practice into a full technical stack: Python, SQL, Power BI and Tableau. The projects I built there, people analytics, EDA pipelines and interactive dashboards, are extensions of work I'd been doing for years, now with the tools to go deeper.

My background in Human Rights Law gives the data work a direction. I care about what the numbers represent: who they affect, how frameworks are applied, and whether the people who need to act on them actually understand what they're looking at. That's what pulls me toward data governance and AI ethics as a longer-term focus, not as a regulatory exercise, but as a question of consequences.
